Dementia Co-Creation Academy

DCCA is a space for planning and implementation of Asset Based Community Building and empowering projects that enhance social citizenship of people living with dementia and their family/friend caregivers through intergenerational engagement in meaningful, fun, recreational, co-creative, therapeutic, artistic, and uplifting social activities. During the first phase of the Academy the following programs are offered from May 2024 until June 2025:

The Building Capacity Project

This is a grassroots initiative that aims to enable people with dementia to participate in community life as full social citizens. This project began as a cross-Canada partnership between researchers at the University of British Columbia and Lakehead University, and members of the Westside Seniors Hub in Vancouver and the North West Dementia Working Group in Thunder Bay.
